![]() We aren't looking at it like it's a get rich plan but rather a fun complementary thing we can do outside playing/running this game and if we can reach more people with a higher quality product we want to achieve that. we really want to be the best SC2 podcast and represent this community well. Eventually we all want to have top of the line mics for better sound quality and then we are going to professionalize ourselves. We don't have BIG plans necessarily but we are always looking to make it better. JP has done an excellent job making that show a success. Geoff "iNcontrol" Robinson: Yeah the State of the Game has grown to levels we had no idea we could achieve. ShadowOfRuin: The State of the Game podcast is rather popular, do you have anything big coming up similar to that? I find myself truly enjoying excuses to shoutcast showmatches or doing podcasts like the State of the Game. I do love the community aspect of this game though. It's impossible to perfect and hard to master so it fulfills my desire to always be the best. I have played SC and now SC2 all these years because of that fact. Geoff "iNcontrol" Robinson: I am a competitor first and foremost. So far, you’ve done a solid job of both commentating and playing StarCraft 2 at a high level, do you prefer one over the other? All responses have been provided verbatim. iNcontrol is a respected name amongst the community for his successful past in Brood War, work on the State of the Game Podcast, and his recent ventures into coaching. This interview features Geoff "iNcontrol" Robinson. To this day, whenever a new talkshow is created in the StarCraft II community, it is common for fans to compare it to 'State of the Game' in terms of quality and always tries to give you a peek into all aspects of the StarCraft 2 community. JP has since established himself as a popular livestreamer on, with variety game play, his 'Roll Play' series, 'Dropped Frames', and more. ![]() In 2013, JP began to step away from the StarCraft II community. ![]() As of Episode 100 on August 16th 2013, State of the Game was put on indefinite hiatus, eventually coming to an informal end as of the final episode, a Christmas/year end review Departure from the scene and legacy It returned on October 18th 2012, with itmeJP as the only remaining pillar. Īfter the 72nd episode, itmeJP took a break from the show. It was announced on January 12th 2012, that the show parted ways with MLG, thus becoming independent again. He also stated that guests would not appear unless one of the pillars was missing. On August 2nd, 2011, iNcontroL returned to the show permanently according to JP's post on the TeamLiquid forums. On July 4th 2011 the show returned with JP McDaniel, Sean " Day(9)" Plott, Tyler " NonY" Wasieleski as Pillars with Dan " Artosis" Stemkoski replacing Geoff as a new pillar. On May 31st 2011, Geoff " iNcontroL" Robinson, left the show as a pillar, the show was on hiatus while JP found someone to replace Geoff. The show would close with questions from the audience section. ![]() They also spoke about the game in a more general sense, effects of patches, new meta game developments, etc. With weekly podcasts over an hour in length, the topics of discussion usually began with talk of what the hosts and guests were spending time on recently, then transitioning into talk about recent competitive matches and leagues.
